Scheduling conflicts with Star Trek: The Next Generation forced Patrick Stewart to turn down the role of Jafar. He has said in interviews that this is his biggest regret.
This is the third Disney movie Patrick had to turn down because of Star Trek. The first was Triton in The Little Mermaid and the second was Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast.
