Notice how the madonna figure also has blond hair, which is a symbol of youth.

Actually that’s just a Taylor Swift thing; she hates chicks with straight brown hair presumably because she got bullied by them (or they stole all the guys she liked, probably both). Because hair color and style indicate how good of a person you are.

But otherwise yes, I concur. And FYI I really don’t like Taylor Swift. Bieber is the male version of her if you ask me.

Okay, but the only reason people dying their hair blond in the west is popular is that it’s an indication of youth, since most people lose their blond hair as they age. She wouldn’t consider it if it wasn’t some hot thing to do.

Except I think she’s always been a blonde. I just remember that dumb Target commercial she had years ago where she depicted herself in middle school with frizzy blonde hair, hating on a girl with straight [brown] hair for attracting a guy she liked at the time. My disdain for her started then actually. I see it more now that she actually feels comfortable with her hair color/style now that she can afford professionals to take care of it for her. (It falls in line with what a lot of females deal with wanting to have what they don’t; either they get the opposite or they figure out how to make what they have work. I think Taylor ended up with the latter, mostly because she went darker in hair color for all of 2 seconds.) And still continues to hate on brunettes for the aforementioned reasons.

You’re still missing my point.

No, I got your point that she (and others) may choose to be blonde because of some belief that it’s a symbol of youth, I just think that Taylor has hair issues that are more involved then simply that. Length of hair is another thing some women fuss over because it is a very long held belief that long hair = femininity, youth, beauty, health and wealth. Popularity of any given hair color has changed a lot over the years (Snow White for example was originally written as being blonde, the Grimm’s changed it for reasons I can’t recall) what should be noted more is that the Madonna is in white and the Whore is in red. Ish. That’s a much more typical and classic portrayal of those ‘universal’ stereotypes for stupid reasons.
